Now that Chiranjeevi is all set to enter politics we made a comparison with the similar events that occurred nearly 30 years ago. The legend N.T Rama Rao who was a great actor and had great fan following before entering politics and went on to become one of the best chief ministers of Andhra Pradesh had similar series of events in his life. This is not a direct comparison between NTR and Chiranjeevi but is a comparison of similar events that occurred and the positives and negatives of each before entering in to politics.
Cinema Career:
Fans
NTR had a great fan following and he was peoples idol for doing the roles of Lord Krishna, Rama, Karna etc. Chiranjeevi also has a great fan following but now there are also other actors with almost similar fan following and are completely against Chiranjeevi which pulls him in to a little disadvantage.
Movies
NTR was in his second phase with movies like Yamagola, Yugandhar, Bobbili Puli, Justice Chowdary etc before entering politics and Chiranjeevi is also in the second phase with movies like Hitler, Indra, Shankar Dada series, Stalin etc
Motivation:
It’s not the money for both as they have earned a lot before entering politics and have enough fame in the country. The only motivation could be that they want to do something good to the people and get fame as a good human being. No one expected NTR to enter politics and it was not a common thing for movie stars to enter politics at that time.
But people and media have been predicting that Chiranjeevi might enter politics for quite some time now. If Chiranjeevi had this in mind he might have planned this a while ago or at least had thoughts of how he should proceed.
Political Parties:
NTR who started his party in 1982 had a great advantage of having only one party that was ruling the state for a while without any motivation to develop the state. For the people it was high to see a change in the government.
But where as Chiranjeevi has two strong parties to compete with his party
Media:
NTR did not have the advantage of the media during his time as the media was not that popular. NTR had to reach all telugu people by travelling all over 
the state.
Chiranjeevi can take the advantage of the media to reach a lot of people easily but the recent events occurred in the personal life and the issues caused by his fans can also pull him down. But if he can be smart to utilize the media he will be at a great advantage.
Awards:
Both NTR and Chiranjeevi received similar awards Padma Shri (4th highest honor) and Padma Bushan (3rd highest honor) respectively. Both have doctorates.
NTR got his Padma Shri almost 20 years before entering politics where as Chiranjeevi got his Padma Bushan just 2 years before he is planning to enter politics which is an advantage to him.
Charisma:
We have to give an advantage to NTR as he can mesmerize people with his speech at any time. It does not mean that Chiranjeevi has less charisma but from past there are no incidents where Chiranjeevi gave a great speech that attracted a lot of people. The speech at his party announcement this week was good but not great.
It is really a hard thing to enter politics as it involves lot of stressful thinking and lot more work compared to movies. We have to appreciate these two great actors who stepped up to serve us and the state.
Is it good for the state if Chiranjeevi wins?
It can be seen in two views. One is if Chiranjeevi may introduce good reforms that might help the state. He doesn’t have to spend time on taking revenge on people from other parties like Congress and TDP. He will still have that zeal to do something for the people.
If you look in the other view if he doesn’t pick the right people for his party he might get into trouble just like NTR who ran his government based on ideological terms which proved to be disastrous at the beginning.
Well the question remains if Chiranjeevi can win these elections with his new party and be our Chief Minister.

Very impressive comparison. As you pointed out, there are so many things different from NTR coming into politics and now. If Chiranjeevi can leverage with right intent and better team, we may see history repeating.

Good comparision, However it is good that Chiranjeevi is also into politics. There should be more parties so that people can always choose. Otherwise it was always only two or 3 parties and none of them are good.
